Services Available
I am pleased to offer editing services to fiction and non-fiction authors. Due to my own writing schedule, I cannot offer beta reads or developmental edits at this time, but I do have slots open for copy edits and proofreads. I can also schedule developmental consults if you would like to talk through you manuscript for idea development.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish. I worked as a writing tutor in college and was a writing teacher for eight years. I completed my Master’s thesis and Doctoral dissertation with honors. I currently serve as a content expert on a dissertation committee and am completing copy edits for fiction authors.
Copy Editing
Do you need someone to take a deep dive into your manuscript looking for consistency with stylistic choices and author voice? Do you need someone to find inconsistencies with character and setting names in your story? Do you need someone with a strong knowledge of style guides (Chicago, MLA, APA) to ensure formatting is appropriate?
I offer copy editing services that includes a manuscript bible of all your names, locations, repetitive grammatical issues with explanations, and other inconsistencies. Rates are based on total word count, and there are different rates for fiction and non-fiction based on the research I may need to do to provide the service. There is a minimum 3 week turnaround for this service depending on length of the manuscript.
Proofreading
Do you need someone to polish your manuscript before publication or submission?
I offer a final check for punctuation and grammar with rates based on the total word count of the manuscript. There is a minimum 2-week turn around window for this service depending on length of the manuscript.
Developmental Consultation
Do you need someone to talk with about your manuscript? Do you have questions about genre and tropes? Do you need to work through the details or direction of your piece?
I offer 30-minute and 1-hour virtual sessions.
